Download this simple, but effective set of tips on how to reconnect when resentment towards your husband is building. Yes, fixing the root of the problem and getting them to pull their weight at home is definitely the answer, but softening the tension will be a much more pleasant road to getting what you want.
It all began when my daughter was about 6 months old. Despite having my dream husband and healthy child, I couldn’t shake the growing feeling of resentment in our relationship. No one tells you about the time and mental load caring for another human takes! On top of having a career, the expectation for mothers to continue to be the “CEO” of the household is simply outdated.
My first step was to look within and take stock of how I was spending my time vs. how I wanted to be spending my time. I realized that I wasn’t sharing the work load of caring for our child or household with my husband and although he was willing to do anything I asked, the fact that I held all the keys was too much to balance while having a demanding career.
I decided to apply everything I learned from being a chef leading high production kitchens servicing demanding clients and a CEO managing multi million dollar budgets and leading executive teams, to running a household and managing my relationship at home. Over the years, I have developed and tested systems and communication strategies to help dual working households with children effectively navigate the domestic workload.
While life and relationships are always a work in progress, it has done so much to make our relationship stronger and given me more mental space and time to be the best person, wife, friend and mama and I hope it does the same for YOU!
Moms are now a huge part of the workforce and almost half are earning equal to or more than their spouses - cool! But, what about caring for the household and children? That's still on moms too, but that just doesn't work anymore.
On the first exercise during Week 1, I realized how much I’m actually doing, it’s no wonder I’m spread so thin. My time chart was completely out of whack and unsustainable. This simple exercise has led me to some major decisions that will ultimately make for a more harmonious home life and certainly allow me to show up in the ways I want to for my family and for my partner.
I was skeptical if this was really going to work. Ummmm, it does! I’ve been really ready to get more consistent help from my very willing and loving husband, but I haven’t had a clear system. We’ve been together a really long time so the communication part is pretty easy for us, but the Family Intake exercise was so powerful to see how much I actually do. Since the workload has been a pain point for us for a while, he was actually ready to take a deep dive with me on who is doing what and open to taking on more responsibilities. He’s self admittedly not great with deadlines, so we are starting small so he can have wins and then we can make gradual changes. The awareness of what each is doing and having a guideline has been so critical to set us up for a real partnership change.
My partner and I are about to have a baby. During the Week 3 Family Responsibility Intake exercise, we discovered some major expectation discrepancies. We were able to talk about it rationally with the communication tools Pace gave me and while it was a bit uncomfortable, it would be so much worse had we not had this conversation. We are getting set up right for this next chapter and this course couldn’t have come at a better time.
My husband was reluctant about the “chart”, but was at least open to it. What we realized is that we are both always doing the same things and often have to communicate who is doing what every day. The Family Responsibility Chart allows us to know who is doing what routine tasks and when, so it saves conversation and communication for much more fun things! Plus now what each other does is clearly laid out and there isn’t a feeling of “she doesn’t think I do enough” from me and on the other hand I can visually see how much he actually does.
My husband and I have been married for about 15 years and our kids are a little older, so we are very much in a set domestic routine that frankly needs to be overhauled. I’m a super organized person and find it’s easier for me to just do most of the tasks rather than explain to my (very willing and capable) husband how to do them. But this is getting me nowhere but overwhelmed and cranky! This workshop came at a perfect transitional point in our lives and while I’m still a little resistant to leading the change since I have all the systems in my head, I I already feel a sense of relief knowing that my husband is ready and willing to take over more things and things that I don’t like doing. I’m looking forward to being more myself again and certainly less grumpy!
I have to say, just the first 2 exercises were worth the time and cost of the workshop alone. In the first exercise where I tracked how I think I spent my time, I already knew it was going to be out of balance and unhealthy. THEN, I got to the second exercise where you track how much time I spent on each task every day and Oh wow. This was a real wakeup call that has informed some big decisions on how I spend my time, but also has already made me re-evaluate the smaller daily decisions I make.
I feel like we’ve all been in this cycle of husband thinks wife is “too bossy/controlling” and we think hubs are “lazy” or “oblivious” to what needs to get done. We are no exception to this cycle and we are both so ready to change the channel on this narrative. The Family Responsibility Chart is far more than your typical “chore” chart. It assigns each partner an area/task to take ownership of so they can be a real partner as opposed to the wife being the “CEO” of the household and simply giving orders to the husband. And of course the tasks are flexible, but at least it’s all clearly laid out on who is doing what as a basic framework. This not only gives me more peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about delegating on a daily/weekly basis, but it sets the tone for a higher level of respect between us and it is so important for us to model that for our children.
The time chart exercise was so depressing! But I already had a hunch of how it would look. There’s just something more powerful about seeing it all written down to know that it cannot continue like this. My husband and I have had small conversations about him taking on more of the domestic workload (which he’s more than willing to do) but I’m really not comfortable with confrontation and frankly, I didn’t know how to create a system or start having effective conversations that didn’t end up in tears or an argument. Enter the Home Flows workshop! I learned key words and phrases to help me have these conversations so I can actually start to make changes in how we divvy up the domestic workload and be more relaxed and at the very least less short with my sweet husband.
This course has been a huge help to me and my family. Pace has great advice for busy parents. It is not only about scheduling chores and homework and work, it’s also about scheduling time for yourself. As a mom that would make me feels guilty but now it’s on my schedule! The weekly workshop was so fun and very informative. My children are happy to know which chores are theirs and which are mine. And the time blocking for chores and homework gets them back the “beloved screens” quicker ;) A lot less nagging from me and less complaining from them. I have recommended Home Flows course to a couple of friends already!

FAQs-
Is this for the couple or just the wife/mother?
This course is geared towards the wife/mother since we are the ones who are still the default caregivers. You can book me for one-on-one consultations with you and your spouse.
Why should I have to do more work when I’m already overloaded with this stuff?
Whether you like it or not, women are still an oppressed group and the oppressed have to do a little more upfront work to change the situation for now and for the future. If you do nothing, nothing will change. As someone on the other side of this problem, my relationship and homelife is INFINITELY better and more equal.
How long will this take?
There are a total of 10 videos, about 5 minutes each. I recommend you watch about x3 videos per week (15 min total) and then do the mini exercises after each one, so overall- 15-30 minutes of effort per week or 4 weeks.
Is this live or pre-recorded?
This is a go at your own pace pre-recorded workshop with Pace, ideal for the busy mama! We do have a monthly Live version of this workshop if you feel that you need more accountability and real time access to Pace.
Is there any support?
Yes! You get access to our private FB Community to ask any questions/challenges!
What format are the templates in?
Both Google Sheets and Excel.
This is a go at your own pace pre-recorded workshop with Pace for the expecting mother.
You will receive a digital workbook in both pdf and Google Sheets and access to our Facebook Community!
In this course, I compiled everything I wish I knew before my first child was born. The focus is around dividing baby-related responsibilities (both pre-arrival and post) with your spouse and having important conversations around domestic labor and what it really takes to care for baby and allow mama to recover.
I’ll guide you through having these conversations with your partner and I’ll provide a thorough list of everything that should be considered so there is a general plan for baby’s arrival! You’ll even get a Baby Responsibility chart in the end so everyone is aware of each other’s responsibilities ahead of time. This will make your new motherhood experience INFINITELY better, I promise!
And honestly, I might be the most excited about the Baby Registry List. I had NO idea where to start with the baby registry and it was so overwhelming. I wish I had a friend come over for an hour and sit down with me and show me all the stuff and explain it to me. So that’s what I’m going to do with you! You’ll have a complete list with links to add to your registry. Super simple.

Most people aren’t “systems” people. But I am!
Over my years as a professional chef and CEO I had to build and operate efficient systems to achieve huge outcomes.
I applied the same mentality to my household and these systems are going to save you so much TIME and MENTAL LABOR!
Plus, ANYONE in your house (spouse, kids, nanny, etc.) will be able to follow these systems and you are no longer the “gatekeeper”.
In this course, we’ll cover:
Household Inventory (A template for everything non-grocery in your house that needs to get purchased).
Grocery Inventory (A template for everything non-grocery in your house that needs to get purchased).
Household Cleaning Checklist (A template for every room and part that needs to get cleaned in your house to make it feel like a home).
Time Blocking: These are all great systems, but how do I actually make sure they get DONE? Time blocking is one of my greatest tools for productivity and feeling “ahead” instead of “behind”.
Inside, we'll show you:
Do you LOVE the Holidays, but HATE the overwhelm?! Me too. That’s why I created this course.
Being a mom, I realized that I needed to bite off smaller chunks over longer periods of time.
I’ll take you from the first week of October to the first week of December. We’ll actually ENJOY the holiday season instead of creeping up on us like some tidal wave of to-dos and already heightened emotions.
